The most recent "update" to the Google Play Store is larger than ever

You don't need to look anywhere else when considering updating your Android apps than the Google Play Store. As Android changed over the years, the Store underwent its fair share of updates, including the adoption of the Material You design and a thorough overhaul of the user interface for Android tablets and Chromebooks. With a visual change to the way the app update button looks, the Play Store app is now receiving a quiet update to an update.

We switched the rectangular buttons for pill-shaped ones when we redesigned Material You for the Play Store. The update buttons for individual applications (or all of them at once), as noticed by 9to5Google, are now larger than they were previously on the Pending downloads screen.

Update buttons (left) are being replaced by ones that are lovely, big, and plump (right)

Although the taller buttons appear to be rolling out widely, you might need to wait a little while for this UI update to appear on your device since it is a server-side modification. However, we are finding it on the majority of ours, so your chances are definitely decent.

9to5 Google also claims that the Data safety section contained in each app listing has caused a new fault in the Play Store. Some users may experience an app crash after expanding this, however the majority supposedly don't. The Play Store may crash on certain phones while functioning fine on others, thus it looks to be a device-specific issue rather than a problem with your Google account. If you experience this problem right now, you can attempt using a different device or the Google Play Store website to visit the Data safety area.
